Nestled in the serene Solu Dudhkunda Municipality, our school serves remote villages across Solukhumbu—a region where many families survive on less than $2 a day. Surrounded by the majestic Himalayan foothills, our campus provides a safe and inspiring environment for children to learn and grow.
Founded in 2003 as a small learning center, we have grown into a full-fledged secondary school offering education from pre-primary to Grade 12. Our student body of over 250 children represents diverse ethnic backgrounds, with a particular focus on reaching marginalized communities that have historically had limited access to quality education.
Our school follows the Nepal national curriculum, enhanced with additional programs that emphasize critical thinking, practical skills, and cultural heritage. We maintain a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:25 in lower grades and 1:30 in upper grades, allowing for personalized attention and support.
The school operates six days a week from Sunday to Friday, with classes running from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Our academic year follows the Nepali calendar, with the main session running from April to March.
My school life was quite amazing and exciting. I had spent 7 years (class 6 to 12) in this school. During the school days I was well known among all my school mates because I used to talk a lot like a garrulous person. So I earned a lot of memories from school day 🙂.
The school environment and teachers are student friendly, dedicated for quality education in remote area.
Being a part of this school what I would like to suggest my juniors is you can use this school as good platform for learning.

“Growing up in a farming family, I never imagined I would become a medical student. The science education and mentorship I received at Phaplu Community School gave me the foundation and confidence to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. Now in my third year of medical school in Kathmandu, I plan to return to Solukhumbu to serve my community.”
“As a girl from a traditional family, continuing education beyond primary school seemed impossible. The support and encouragement from my teachers at Phaplu changed my life trajectory. Today, I’m studying computer science and working part-time as a coding instructor for younger students. Education has given me choices my mother never had.”
