Our Story

Founded in 2003 by Dr. Mingmar Gyalzen Sherpa, a compassionate physician and native of Phaplu, the Sherpa Education Foundation began as a humble initiative to address the stark educational disparities in Solukhumbu.


Driven by his belief that "education heals communities," Dr. Sherpa transformed a small learning center into the thriving Phaplu Community Secondary School—now a beacon of hope for hundreds of families.
